Craftiness
has not been at the top of my list in the past few years.
Oh, I've had my days of hot glue guns, craft shows, and paint.
I still have a craft box up in the closet & the glue gun still works.

But, lately inspiration has really been popping up on the screen. :-)
and pushing me towards a long-lost art.

and pushing me towards a long-lost art.
!!!
Monday was another January day,
no sun rays could be found on the floors,
and colder temps were trying to push through.
My plans for the day had been re-arranged and housework
didn't seem to be on my want to do list.
My sweetheart had brought "the valentine decor"
down from the attic on Saturday and
I had barely peeked in the box to get excitement & inspiration.
that's one thing I like about blogging - I can go back
and look at pictures and see where and what was placed there. :-) for the holidays
I needed to "frink a dink" up a little something for my front door.
For the life of me can't remember what I had last year.
(that was before cameras & blogging)
I had this vine wreath with white lights dangling from it.
oops! almost forgot to take a picture before
completing it!
excuse the quality of picture - remember no sunshine
(we can always blame bad pics on that one)
that's right curly ribbon bows
(the kind that is already stapled - ready to peel & stick on a package)
I bought a whole sack full from Hobby Lobby two years ago,
after Valentine's Day.
There were three bows attached to one card. (less than 50 cents per card of three) CHEAP!
See the iridescent (pinky color)?
and yes that's a bath towel!
~had to find a quick backdrop~

No the curly ribbons were not left-overs from Christmas.
I left the peel & stick backing on
and inserted the whole thing into the wreath.
It was concealed with all the curly ribbon.
This is a close-up view of the top.
~completed project hanging~
&
blowing in the wind
at nighttime it glows pink
~our view from inside~
I had a fun time putting this quick project together.
I hope you are adding a touch of sweetness to your home
and sharing your heart & love with others.

Well first of all you are just too creative and too talented...your blog looks wonderful, how did you figure out how to do all this? Your Valentine projects are great...truly more energy than I have right now! Still praying that the doctors will give you an answer...but wow! how much will you get accomplished then if this is what you do when you feel bad!! Oh, have fun getting ready for your 25th Anniversary...ours was the news of a new baby on the way, number 6, and preparing for our first son's wedding...what a 25th Anniversary!! LOL
Very nice and creative idea, I lake it!
Kisses.
Glad you are feeling better. This is such a cute idea, I need to pull out the Valentine decor if I am going to-it is fast approaching.
That is just way to cute, I would never have thought of doing that. Glad you got your mojo back because you have wonderful ideas.
Hi dear friend,

It's so pretty, Karen. You did a great job with is and shared it nicely with us, too :)
Great idea for the wreath. Praying you are on your way to recovering very soon.
I like that very much!
Hi Karen, It is so nice to see a post from you. You have been in my heart and prayers. I love the wreath and you are inspiring me to get ready for Valentine's Day!
I am on an extended break from blogging. After one year on the market, our beloved home has sold and we are searching for a small, one-level home which will be safer for my husband. I'll be checking in from time to time, and just want to say I hope you get answers to your health concerns soon.
That is wonderful! I have nothing on my front door save a plastic snowflake. Perhaps I could do better...
Hi Karen! I thought of you this morning and prayed for you! :-) I absolutely love this wreath and think I might even be able to attempt something like this...maybe! I was thinking how fun it would be to do something like this for a party too, with different colors you really could tailor it to just about any event. Looking forward to seeing you at the party!

Your Valentine's wreath is very cute and very clever.
It really is interesting. The lights add just the right "ump".
Got a chuckle out of that "frink a dink"!
That is so cute! I love this idea..just so cheery and full of Valentine love! LOL
Now that's a wreath with lots of whimsy! Thanks for sharing. I hope you'll stop by for a visit. I just posted the BEST tablescape ever.
this is super cute - and i have to save it for next year when i have the time to actually do it. Love your blog. Visiting from the Picket Fence :)
Lovely!!!! I'm your newest follower. http://moogieland.blogspot.com/
Dear Karen, I am glad you are feeling better. This wreath is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Absolutely lovely!! You are sooo creative! I will continue to keep you and your health in my prayers!
Fantastic, Karen! I think the best word to describe it is HAPPY. I would definitely copy it.
Craft therapy is good for a dreary day.I hope it also helped you feel better. I will pray in advance of the appointment that this doctor will have an answer.
Hi Karen! Just coming back by to say thank you so much for being the very first person to link up to Inspiration Friday At the Picket Fence! You put a smile on my face when I saw it pop up and I so appreciate you! :-)

Hi Karen! Oh, your wreath is beautiful! I love it. I could do this! Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love your wreath, it's so happy looking! Glad you're feeling a bit better. Kathleen.
Also, your new look is great! I need a happier looking header for my blog. Better get working on it!
Your wreath is so pretty and so clever. I love the Valentine scripture, I have never seen that before.
I got the pretty heart ramekins at a local store here in Utah - Tai Pan but I know they have 2 stores in California now.
You definitely got your "craft" back on! Your wreath is so cute and festive! Now "frink a dink" is a new term-- even for me (and I have some good ones :) People tell me my "roots" are showing and I don't think they mean my hair :)! Thanks for sharing this!
Your wreath is just so happy to look at.. I'm sure it puts a smile on each guest you have. hugs ~lynne~
What a great idea! Curly ribbons and lights to twinkle through the door. As of right now, my wreath is the same old heart-shaped one that I redecorated last year. It needs some crimping and and a few streamers hanging from the center bow. Maybe that will freshen it up.
Enjoying being here as always.
Janis
Just adorable and so sweet. I like that you can see it from inside as well as outside. Hope you feel better. I am a new follower.

Karen...I love this! I will be making a trip to buy some curly ribbon to dress up an old wreath...what a clever and easy craft!
Wow I love your crafty-ness. This is so pretty! I would never have thought to use curly ribbon. Love how well it turned out. I may have to try this!
Thanks so much for adding it to The Valentines Party!
Your post made me smile. Days of the glue gun! That's about where my crafting stopped too. I love this wreath though! Perfect for Valentines!
