Simple Pleasures

Simplicity~lack of complication

Have you captured the feeling (emotion) when something evokes special memories?
A calmness can be felt  and a smile can be seen.
It is almost like your heart wraps around it.
These longings have no wrong, if we don't have these, something has gone wrong.
  We were wired for simplicity.
We were not made for rush-hour traffic and the fast paced life.
Calmness over chaos is what our bodies prefer.
When we start to slow and enjoy the simple things, our senses come alive.
We start looking, resting and enjoying life.
I would hope we all slow long enough to remember, enjoy, but most of all, be grateful.

I had set the jars of banana peppers in the window to enjoy the beauty of them.
(Yellow is my favorite color, I might add.)
Then when I looked at the picture later, I realized what a sweetness!
The zinnas in the milk glass vase and my special plates.
I have finally taken the peppers out of the window,
but the plates and the vase have a permanent home there.
I hope you enjoyed my view and you didn't even have to do the dishes!

"The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what's ahead.
He puts a little of Heaven in our hearts so that we'll never settle for less."
  2 Corinthians 5:3-5 MSG

I do enjoy the view and would think it pretty to go ahead and leave the peppers there too. You are so right that we're wired for simplicity.

After all, how else can we hear the still, small, voice?

Your music this morning made coming here an even simpler pleasure. Loved it.

So funny, I saw the picture of your banana peppers and my mouth watered! It really did! I love those. I guess eating them on a sandwich at Subway doesn't really count; I'm sure your are delicious! :-) Have a wonderful Friday!

Oh, Karen. What a blessing this post is. Beautiful words! And, I love the banana ring peppers....even more so, your attention to the plate. It made my heart smile, when I looked up from your reference to it, and I saw the precious simplicity there that brought me a joyful retreat for a split second in time. Really. I know that my words can often be dramatic in effect, but this is my heart ♥ Dramatic joy, beautiful sight and a dance to the inner music of God!!

I think I'll follow ♥

Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday. It's so nice to meet you.

I love your photo. It's beautiful. Those peppers look delicious. They would have been fabulous on the sandwich I just ate for lunch.

I spent many years on the fast-track of busynesss...aka the hamster wheel of chronic activity. Sadly, we live in a society that deems slowing down as laziness. When I was in go mode all the time, I was chronically unwell and totally joyless. By slowing down, I regained my health...and I've discovered beauty and joy in the simple.

Blessings,
