~not just living life~

So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalms 90:12

A new number continually appears on the atomic clock that hangs in our home and more of my hairs do not match the color,
of the ones when I was younger. I could continue naming happenings that we all experience as time ticks on; we are all experiencing it.

Nothing can slow this thing called Time.

I long to capture (don't let it go) the realization, that each moment of life is a gift.  You know the feeling,
when you look at someone you love and the thoughts rush through your mind,
this is a precious moment, we may never do this again.

It is a gift every moment the new number appears.
Life is temporary for each one.  When I allow my mind to think on these thoughts...I truly understand what is important.

When we are allowed to face our own immortality,
our priorites quickly take on a whole new meaning.

We will find purpose and meaning for each day when we consider our life as God's gift.
Every moment is precious, we need to cherish them all.

~I don't want to just live life ~
I want a life that is full of life in the One who gave life.

my life giving moments this past week

111.  my husband's safe trip home
112. movie time with the youngest son
113. teachable moments
114.  two yellow butterflies
115.  the last blooms of summer
116.  encouraging words
117.  e-mails with new found sisters in Christ
118.  sharing my special coffee cup
119.  concrete moved (carport cleaned)
120.  meal shared with missionaries & church family

We need deliberately to call to mind the joys of our journey.
Perhaps we should try to write down the blessings of one day.
We might begin; we could never end; there are not pens or paper enough in all the world.

I know I am odd...but, I love that time marches on! I love that the days and weeks and months fly by. I hope that the Savior will soon be here among us or that I will be with him one day. In the last day, time will even be sped up so that we can withstand these last days. I am so glad that He is in charge! :D

"I have come that they might have life to the full!!" May He grant the desire of your heart to cherish the moments, to see Him more clearly and know Him more intimately!
P.S. The fall porch looks so inviting! My internet wasn't cooperating when I tried to comment the other day!

This is a lovely post, Karen. Too often, we're waiting for the next "big" thing...the next trip, the next party, the next vacation, the next weekend...instead of enjoying each day that we are given.

Your post reminds me of a wall plaque I saw recently..."Each day comes with its own gifts...untie the ribbons!"

Oh, may we find joy in our ordinary days, and may we live each day to the fullest.

Thanks for a lovely post.

Love,
Patti

I love this post. You are so right. I think starting today I will write down all that I am grateful for and keep the notebook with my Bible.

I am having a bit of trouble accepting that time is marching on...especially as I approach the BIG 5..0..., but I am trying to remember each day is a gift. Thank you for your thoughts here and for stopping by my place. I am your newest follower...

What a meaningful and lovely post! At our home we call this counting our blessings, but no matter what we call it... they are all grace gifts from God! thank you for sharing your sweet thoughts today!

Love this post. I guess it's my age, but I am increasingly aware of that march of time, and it can be a cause of anxiety for me. It seems to just sprint by!
