{everything's peachy}

Our neighbor shared some peaches with us.

Peeled & Cut up Peaches
Water & Sugar Added
Simmered until tender

This recipe is a basic cobbler recipe,
but with a topping to add it over the top!

butter in pan
(love this old enamel pan - perfect for shelling peas in)

Ingredients gathered

Mixed by hand and placed into the pan.

But, wait!
Do you see the sugary shiny ingredient on top?

Sugar and vanilla blended with a fork and placed on top,
makes for a crispy sweet topping.

Warm - straight from the oven.

How do you like yours?

Warm
with Ice Cream
without Ice Crean
or
Cold
???

I prefer mine the next day,
after it has chilled in the refrigerator.

The next time you make a peach cobbler,
you try adding the sugar & vanilla on top.

See what you think!

  1. Looks YUMMY!!!!! Peach cobbler and peach pie are one of my favorites. I have never added the sugar/vanilla mixture to a cobbler, I will have to try that sometime.

Have a good weekend. How was the first day of high school?

  3. Hi Karen,
wow, I'm sold, be right over!!

I love peaches in just about anyway you can serve them. That cobbler looks absolutely scrumptious.
I like mine after it has been in the fridge too,
and with some icecream or not!!

Like the idea of the vanilla flavoring mixed
with the sugar, will have to log that in my
mind for Fall and Winter, that is usually when
    I do my cobbler making!!

Thanks for sharing, the pictures were wonderful,

    Blessings, Nellie
Nice to meet you by the way!!

  5. Yummo! Definitely with ice cream. I made a blackberry apple crisp yesterday. In fact, I think I need to go heat up a piece now. I already have the vanilla ice cream softening up. :) Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

  9. I am definetly going to try the sugar-vanilla topping. I put peaches in the freezer last week and made peach peel jelly. I had never heard of such till a friend told me-it was delicious.
