Welcoming~

Fall is one of my favorite
times of the year.
The colors and textures of the season
are so appealing to me.

The rich jewel tones can be found
in many things from nature.

Gourds to pumpkins
and sometimes even in the unexpected.

like the left-overs in the garden ~
dried okra

it is amazing what we can find to decorate with
even on a budget

my seasonal decorations are used from year to year
but, just regrouping or placing something
in a different place can add newness

vignettes can be created by adding
items that have meaning
from a hand painted greeting card framed
to an old decoy that belonged to a grandfather

my desire is for our home to be
welcoming and relaxing for our guests

this can be accomplished with
our sense of smell~

autumn and fall have many smells
which are comforting and
hazelnut being one of them for me

hazelnut coffeebeans were placed
in the candleholder and
 then a candle was added

it doesn't take much to add a touch
of fall into our homes ~

a bowl of fruit salvaged from a wreath

acorns, horse apples, fall leaves, pinecones,
branches, and cotton are just a few things
that come to mind that are easy to find

place them in your favorite or most
special bowl and add some
warmth to your home
as a reminder of the
changing of the seasons.

To everything there is a season,
and a time for every matter or purpose
under heaven.. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Father, I ask you to open my
eyes to the beauty you have
surrounded me with,
may my heart feel
your touch
and our home reflect
Your Presence with
those who grace us with a visit.

I love the colours of fall as they are so warm and invite one inside to relax and be cozy. Your photos evoke that coziness. Beautiful.

I often have my sound down while blog visiting, but tonight I have it on. The music is particularly beautiful with the fall pictures.

I love fall decorating the most of all. I've thought about it, and I think it's because unlike spring decor which dies, or faux decorations which are, well, faux, fall decorations from nature are real and lasting. There's a Godlike quality to it that I love. Make any sense at all?

Your gift for decorating is amazing. I loved every picture.

I just found your blog through Richella's Imparting Grace blog. Hope it's okay if I follow along. Lovely pictures of your autumn decorating! Thanks for sharing. Also, I love the beautiful music playing. How did you add that to your blog??? I tried a couple of times to do the same thing, and couldn't figure out how to do it.
