Day 2 ~ almost twice the time

Day Two dawned after an evening of laughter
and a night of rest...

the view from our hotel room
 Breaking of Dawn

I did have to climb a steep embankment to get the picture
but it was well worth it ~ never crossed my mind
about how I was going to come down

flip-flops, wet grass and a steep incline
just don't go together
I made it safely as my mother-in-law
 watched from the hotel window

~~~
You did read the title of the post?
map quest did not like the route
we mapped ~ it was adamant
about staying on the much larger roads
Approximate four hour trip
calculated up to a 8 hour trip  :-)
but, I cannot tell you how many times
we said,
 "we would not have seen this if we had not come this way"
a beautiful maple tree
in the yard of the church below
New Providence Presbyterian Church
Founded 1786
Maryville, TN
notice the engraving above the doors
Enter Into His Gates With Thanks
And Into His Courts With Praise
we were in the town of Maryville, TN
and I snapped this one out of the passenger side window
such a beautiful firestation
and "yes, I was driving"
didn't take long for her to catch the fever
of snapping pictures of churches
Seventh Day Adventist Church outside of Maryville, TN
just a small pic relating to my next post
~Reaching the Destination
and you will not want to
miss the next post either
~On the Way Home
it took two nights stay on the way back  :-)
Hi Karen. I much prefer the scenic route anyday providing I have the time to take it. We don't have GPS so rely on maps and memory. Wonderful church photos again. Blessings, Pamela
The scenic route is always so much better. That is such a great idea to take pics of different churches, I may have to copy you if you don't mind.
Have a very Happy Mother's Day! xo
Oh I'm SO GLAD you took the time!! I love the scenic route myself. I've actually been to that area. We have a picture of my daughter posing by a Maryville sign since her name is Mary.
Beautiful post! I love to make pictures of churches. These are great. Taking the scenic route is always more fun than getting there in a hurry!
Hi Karen--taking photos while driving--hmm--well what ever works--and in this case--it seemed to. All are pretty and interesting. :)
Beautiful...I stopped reading and just looked at the pictures as God so gently said, "you see my daughter my paths always hold more wonder than yours...slow down and enjoy the ride"
Thanks for your post as it brought me to the throne this morning
Oh Karen, you captured some terrific shots.
I don't long to be rich often but if I were, I would get that old church in Athens restored. It is so beautiful and needs just a little tender loving care.
I want the memories of this trip to stay fresh in my mind and you brought some back today.
Thank you precious friend,
Love,
Dianne
