Today is August 4, 2011

I'm not one when it comes to
 journaling, blogging, posting, sharing ...
to get silly,
too sentimental,
or simply too personal.

But, I want to share this day with you.

It started out the same as usual.

BUT,
I hear no sounds coming from this

BECAUSE
this one

HEADED OUT TO SCHOOL!
I had to share this day,
because it is a special one!
He is in HIGH SCHOOL.

Did I forget to say
~9th Grader~
(where did the time go?)

SO NOW
it is quiet,
mom can have her
peanut butter & banana sandwich for lunch
no cooking for the hungry boy
until dinner - (supper-time)

AND IT'S

I was in a hurry snapping the pictures against his will,
(not the best pics in the world)
but you can see his personality shining through in this
one - if you look closely!

Just hope he gets "alittle" more serious at school!

He is my Simple Pleasure today.

Full of FUN all the time!
(and his mom's getting her Senior Discount this year)
Can't you just see me asking for this when he and I go
out to eat.  Bet, I'll have to slip around to request one!
HE will crawl under the table.

Hope you day is filled with fun & laughter.

He is such a handsome guy. Seems way too early for school to start. The quiet will grow on you, but at first it really is almost unbearable. Have a super day. Hugs, Marty

I totally get this one! I know exactly what you're trying to express.

And can I say what a handsome young man he is? Must get his looks from his mama, right?

(Better to earn the SS discount and have to prove it than be offered it when you don't qualify. That's my theory, anyway.)

You know my boy is 35 years old and the papa of four little ones but just hearing his voice causes my heart to smile. I understand.

Brings back bittersweet memories. One day you think where has the time gone-I guess we were busy living life too busy to stop and think about it.

Okay lady who isn't sentimental or personal...you got me, because in 15 days my 9th grader goes off to school...my first child to go off to school, other than college, and I will probably post some sentimental post, which will be coated in tears!!

This is great!!!!!! Hugs to you MOM!...time flies so fast...remember I have four already out of the nest.

An important milestone for sure. High school was fun for the whole family with my boys. Days filled with sports & friends & becoming young men. There are times that I wish those days back.
Enjoy this time...

Oh what a handsome young man. It seems so early to be heading back to school. We never go back until September in the northwest. Thank you for the encouraging words on my blog today!
Blessings,

Such a good-looking young man too and so smart with it! I think yours is one of the top simple pleasures this week, not that it's a league or anything but you know what I mean. Great photos, as always.

My "baby" boy starts high school this fall, too. . . although I'm glad his school doesn't start for a couple more weeks. What a handsome son you have!

As for my other boys, I am grappling with the fact that I'll soon have two in college. EEEK! Where did the time go? :)

Hi Karen,
Loved your post.
Time does go so fast.
I still feel the same .. but everyone around me seems to get older so quickly.
Best wishes for your son at high school.
My little great-grand-daughter started Kindy this year -- When I write this I think I feel old(er).....
God Bless
