~AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

O beautiful for spacious skies

for amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

America!  America!
God shed His grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

(my dad ~ 1942)

From sea to shining sea.

I pray you & your family will remember
those who are fighting for our freedom
and for those who have.

You did a wonderful job putting this together! That last picture with the scripture is so timely and true!!! I just hope enough of God's people will obey that scripture!!!
Have a great weekend!

Your purple mountains are beautiful!
Clever way of showing the American Flag, through the leaded glass.
But my favorite picture, is your dad, standing so dignified in his uniform.

God Bless all of our Veterans, living and fallen and their families. May we be mindful to pray for those who serve and protect and those fighting now for our freedoms.

This is absolutely lovely. What a beautiful tribute to the many who have served - and continue to serve - our country. My prayers are continually with them.

Oh, Karen, what a moving post. Thank you!! Where did you take the picture of the mountains? I have been trying to comment on this post for three days but there was something wrong and I kept getting looped back to the comment page. I think this one is going to work. Thanks again for a thoughtful and moving post!
