Flocking Together

The weather forecast predicted 6-8 inches of snow.
I made the run to the grocery store on Friday.
Cooked enough for a "log rolling".
And made sure the birdys had plenty!

I've had fun today watching them stuff themselves.

She is well disquised.
I believe our Creator planned it that way. :)
She can hide real easy when she's on the nest.

But, look at this beauty.
He could not keep still ~ see his wings.
I've got to tell you how I captured these.
I bundled up (see our predicted 6-8 inches).
It was COLD THOUGH!  33 degrees
ICE in the branches is what it really amounted to for us.
~On with the story~
Set the tripod up under the carport.
Hid beside the storage room.
AND WAITED!!!
The birds would fly in and land in this area,
before hitting the bird feeder.
AND
I PRAYED FOR A RED BIRD.
AND
SHE WAS WHAT I GOT!

But, I believe he is my favorite.
All fluffed up and showing out!

I hope you've enjoyed looking.

Oh, Karen...I certainly have enjoyed looking. They're so precious and beautiful, I love the birdies!! You've presented them so beautifully, too :)

Oh My! Your pictures are just lovely! Framing quality.
You must have a great camera. They look beautiful in the snow. Up here in the north, where that much snow is every day life, we take the beauty for granted sometimes.
Thanks for sharing...

Hey Karen, I have been a bird
watcher for many years. I also
love to see that they have
plenty of food, especially
when it's so cold and snowy
like today. I believe the
beautiful brown,orange and
white bird is the female
rufous-sided towee and the
little gray looks a lot like
my dark eyed junco. Could be
wrong on that but sure about
Mrs. Towee. They are all so
lovely and I sure enjoyed this
post.
Blessings,
Sandy

Karen, these are ABSOLUTELY beautiful!!! I can't wait to show my husband - he loves to watch the birds! I have never seen the bird that is posted just before the female red bird. I'll have to look it up in the bird book! Thank you so much for sharing!

I haven't heard an official report but we have at least 5 inches in our yard.

I am sick so couldn't go out and take pics.

I love your bird pics--and yes especially the "portly" one. After the holidays, I am feeling somewhat like he looks! LOL

Wow Karen! You are amazing with the camera. Matt and I LOVED looking at your bird pictures. We both like to watch the birds come to our feeder and I have tried to snap a few pics but they are usually blurry. These should be framed!

Of all the wonderful photos on this blog, and there have been many, these are by far my favorites.

I LOVE them and hope that you are planning to frame them. Fantastic.

Of course, I'm somewhat of a bird nut...

I've wondered how others got their pictures of their adorable birds, especially when it's so darn cold.

Oh I missed this yesterday...my five year old and I went for a walk through our snow and we watched the birds...he kept telling me how much he loves!! the birds. I brought him in to see your post and just listened as he said, "oh how beautiful!"..."I like that one!"...and on and on.
Thanks for sharing Benjamin and I so enjoyed it..now I ought to go get bird seed for him to feed the birds.

No red birds in this subdivision...I use to have tons of them at our house...I so miss them!!
